Welcome to our Services page! We try and make things as simple as possible at Arnie’s so our services are broken down into 4 separate packages and your dog will fall into one of them depending on Breed & Age.
ARNIE’S ULTIMATE GROOMING
This will be the service to choose for the majority of you.
This is for ANY breeds that have not been crossed with a Poodle. For those, we have the Yankee Doodle service but we’ll get to that in a minute.
Other shops charge for add ons. At Arnie’s, everything is included with this service. Have a look below to see what you’re getting for your money.

Please note that the price cannot be lessened if you were to forgo certain parts of the services. It’s “Everything – Every time”.
YANKEE DOODLE
Here it is! We have so many Doodle clients that we created a special service just for them. This is for any dog that has been crossed with a Poodle. So we’re talking…Goldendoodles, Bernadoodles, Cockapoos, anything that has been crossed with a Poodle.
We have so many Doodles (approx. 70% of our clientele) that we would consider ourselves experts. All our staff work with Doodles each and every day.
We do have to charge extra for longer hair left. But you can find out more about that by visiting our Doodle page. Yep, we even have a page breaking everything down. Told you we have a lot of Doodles.
GATSBY’S PUPPY INTRO
Named after our own Cheeky Chap, Gatsby, this is ideal for Puppies that need to be introduced to the world of Dog Grooming.
We have a dedicated page about our Puppy Intros that can be found right here.
Please note that all puppies must be fully vaccinated from Rabies and be under 6 months old. Requests for older dogs will have to be declined or revised to another service.
Hand Stripping
Hand Stripping is a specialist service that very few Dog Groomers can perform correctly. It is extremely important that you pick the right stylist to carry out this service to avoid coat damage. Even if you don’t choose Arnie’s…Please Do Your Research!
At time of writing, there is only one stylist that is qualified to perform Hand Stripping and that is our Owner and Founder, Gurj Drake.

Arnie’s Not-so-hidden Fees
Matting
We have a strict de-matting policy, we believe all dogs are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease.
Attempting to brush out heavy matting would lead to a great deal of discomfort for a dog. Instead, we will always advise clipping to remove the matted and damaged coat.
If your dog has become matted, we will always obtain your permission at check in to do this. When dogs are heavily matted, an extra charge of up to $30 to remove the coat will apply.
Late Pick-up Fees
We are a premium, one on one service which means that it’s imperative that our guests are picked up on time after their groom.
We are not a dog daycare. We will send a “ready for pick up” text and that should be taken as a sign that it’s time to come and collect your dog. as much as we love them, we must have them picked up on time for Arnie’s to run smoothly.
To dissuade clients & due to the extra time that our stylists must take to watch your dog, we charge a late fee of $10 every 30 minutes.
Handling
We have never turned a dog away due to behavior and we’re not going to start now.
We have designed Arnie’s so that it is a calm, relaxing, stress-free environment. Dogs are catered to on a pure one on one basis with separate rooms and we find that helps drastically when dealing with difficult dogs. While we appreciate that many dogs do not like being groomed, we may at times have to charge a handling fee for extremely disruptive or dangerous behavior.
This is not to punish the client but because of the extra time and assistance that is required. Price varies based on the amount of extra handling needed.
